Studio Mcgee + Threshold for Target Fall 2021
It’s the most wonderful time of the year for this designer! The launch of the new Fall Threshold with Studio Mcgee collection at Target. As someone who spends all day every day, searching for the best furniture and decor the internet has to offer, this collection gets me excited! The Fall 2021 release is full of decor, furniture, rugs, and lighting that is full of rich warm wood tones, cool modern materials, and is spot on to today’s emerging trends. The Studio Mcgee + Target collection officially goes on sale Sunday, July 11th and you’ll see more items become available on July 18th. This collection sells out FAST! Take a look at our preview below, and go ahead and save your favorites so you’ll be ready to shop when things go live!
What’s so great about the Studio Mcgee + Threshold Collaboration?
First, the Threshold name means quality! The Studio Mcgee products are considerably higher-quality than that of other Target collaborations like Hearth & Hand. This means when you spend even $25 on a piece of decor from this collection, you’re getting something of considerably higher quality than you ought to be. Secondly, the price point for these items is unbelievable! Almost all of the decor items are under $30, 8 x 10 rugs under $200, and quality furniture in the $200 - $500 range. All I can say is “Target does it again”! Finally, the thing I love most about Studio Mcgee is they are bringing the high-end designer styles that are just now emerging on the market and immediately bringing them to the average consumer. We won’t see the types of high-end style lighting, rugs and decor you see in this collection out in the market anywhere else for 6 months to a year! I guess when you are setting the design style pace, you know where you’re going before everyone else does!

Favorite Studio Mcgee + Target Rugs
The star of the show for us in the Fall 2021 Studio Mcgee launch is -by far - the rugs! These are stunning! These warm rich brown towns are perfect for a variety of Cottage, Coastal, California Casual, and Modern Classic design style lovers everywhere! They are low to mid-pile height with deep rich colors. What I also love is many of these are indoor/outdoor rugs, meaning you could hose some of these off in the backyard if you’d like! The size also impresses. Most of these come in 5 x 7 or 7 x 10 sizes. I especially like the 7 x 10 size which will work for most living rooms, bedrooms, and is a great size for dining rooms as well! the slightly narrower 7 x 10 as compared to 8 x 10 works best in 6 person dining areas. Personally, I’ve got my eye set on the hand-knotted Buena Park rug for my own dining area.

Favorite Studio Mcgee + Target Decor
Eeeks! Where do I start with all of this great decor. That’s what this entire Studio Mcgee collaboration with Threshold has become best known for in my opinion - amazing, affordable decor. There are certainly some standouts here! I think the #1 bestseller from the entire collection will be the marble arch bookends. I’d put money on that right now. Other notables are the large decorative chain and bead strands and varying height vases. These are stables in our styling so grabbing a few (or all, we don’t judge) items from this list is an investment in your styling future. Truly you could style your entire home like a pro just using Studio Mcgee for Target decor items alone. We’ve done it!

Favorite Studio Mcgee + Target Furniture
One of the big things missing from this collection is furniture. No doubt this is due to continued supply and demand issues around the globe, so it may be a while before we see the next big Studio Mcgee + Target furniture drop. However, there are still some stunning pieces in this collection. Most notably is the Crystal Cove black glass cabinet in both the 30” and 60” sizes. This modern piece would look stunning as a bar cart “cabinet” display or as a modern bookcase! Items that are similar to these retail for hundreds of dollars more than you can get them here. Secondly, don’t miss the ottomans! I purchased a few of the windowpane square ottomans from the last collection and the size + quality for the price still blows me away. The leather piping detail around these round ottomans is a great example of why Studio Mcgee is known for bringing high-end looks to consumers.

Favorite Studio Mcgee + Target Lighting
Now here’s something surprising… Is Target breaking free from the table lamp and branching out into ceiling lighting? It looks like it! This collection’s lighting standouts include several pendant lights and flush mount lights that would be perfect for over an island or entryway. I know I’ve said it before, but I cannot get over the price point! Similiar milk glass pendant lanterns (which come in brass and black btw) of this size would be close to $200 elsewhere. A great steal of a deal! I can’t talk about lighting without mentioning this stunning tapered lamp shade with a black base. Nothing says contemporary style quite like this statement shade and we are here for it!
